Michael was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Before attending law school, Michael obtained his bachelor’s degree in History and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (2000).
While an undergraduate, Michael was a Dean’s List scholar and played rugby for the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Upon completing his undergraduate degree he received his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law (2004), also in Omaha. After law school, Michael gained valuable experience with a employment law firm working with Fortune 500 companies on management side employment and labor law matters. He then gained valuable trial experience as a prosecutor with the Omaha City Prosecutors Office before moving to California.
Michael is admitted to the California State Bar, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the Nebraska State Bar, and the U.S. District Court of Nebraska. Since coming to California, Michael has focused his practice on litigation and management side employment law matters where he counsels clients in human resource compliance, risk management, policies and procedures, and all aspects of litigation brought under state and federal statutes.
He joined KIRK & SIMAS as an associate in early 2010 to pursue those interests. |
